除了两款非公版的HD 4850，华硕还发布了了两款公版的HD 4870，频率是ATI设定的额定的频率。从华硕这款4870的我们可以发现，公版的HD 4870是双卡槽设计，而不是HD 4850的单卡槽设计；散热器也比4850的厚大了不少，但没有像GTX 200那样包着整块PCB；而且，华硕的HD 2870外壳上还多了个MM。
另外，这两款EAH 4870唯一区别在于，带“G”的绑定了著名的恐怖冒险游戏Alone In The Dark（鬼屋魔影），该游戏系列从92年推出，到目前为止该系列已经累积销售几百万套。
